If you searched justforfans video downloader chrome — or the longer justforfans video downloader chrome extension — you already know what the results look like: a couple of GitHub repos, a few desktop apps that mostly talk about other sites, and very little that says plainly whether JustForFans video actually comes down, and at what quality.
Here is the plain version. Fanripper is a Chrome extension that saves justfor.fans video, including the encrypted pay-per-view, at the post’s best quality, decrypted on your own machine. It also handles photos, whole profiles, and your whole purchase history across every creator. There are real gaps too, and they are listed further down rather than buried.
One ground rule first: this is about a personal backup of content you have lawful, paid access to. Fanripper is independent, not affiliated with JustForFans, and it never opens anything your account cannot already open.
Why the top result is a GitHub repo
Search for a JustForFans downloader and the first thing Google shows is usually an open-source script. That is not an accident, and it is not a knock on those projects — they were written by people scratching their own itch and they are free.
They are just a different kind of tool, and it is worth knowing which kind you are choosing:
- A script is something you run. Expect Python or Node, a terminal, a config file, and some way of handing the script your session — usually exported cookies or a token you have to find yourself.
- An extension is something you click. It lives in the browser tab you are already logged into, so there is no session to export and nothing to configure.
- Encrypted video is where the two diverge. Plenty of scripts fetch a JustForFans photo happily and then hand you a video file that no player will open, because the clip was encrypted and never decrypted.
If you are comfortable in a terminal and the creators you follow are on the unencrypted path, a script may well be enough. If you want a save button, or the creators you follow are on the encrypted path, a browser extension is the honest answer.
Is there a JustForFans video downloader for Chrome? Yes. Fanripper is a Chrome extension — it also runs on Brave and Edge — that adds a save button to justfor.fans. It is not in the Chrome Web Store, so you download the build, unzip it, and load it from your browser’s extensions page once.
The 720p trap, and why JustForFans doesn’t have to fall into it
This is the part most comparisons miss, because it is invisible until you check the file you saved.
JustForFans hands its video off to a separate video service, and for some creators that service delivers the clip encrypted and split into segments. Tools built for OnlyFans assume every locked video means Widevine — the heavyweight DRM with a sealed decryption module — and take the software decryption path that the industry typically caps at 720p. The download “succeeds” and you get a downscaled copy.
JustForFans does not use Widevine. Its encryption is a lighter scheme (ClearKey), with no sealed module in the way. Because Fanripper reads what JustForFans is genuinely serving rather than guessing, it decrypts the real stream in your browser and keeps the top rendition the post offers — no cap imposed on our side. That is the single biggest difference between a JFF download that is fine and one that is quietly worse than what you paid for.
Do JustForFans downloads get capped at 720p? Not with Fanripper. JustForFans encrypts video with ClearKey, not Widevine, so there is no sealed decryption module forcing a downscale. Fanripper decrypts locally and keeps the post’s top rendition.
For the wider picture on how encrypted video works and why it defeats generic tools, see the OnlyFans DRM and Widevine explainer.
Installing it on Chrome
Fanripper is not in the Chrome Web Store — stores routinely pull extensions that work with subscription sites, so we distribute the build directly. Setup is once, and takes about a minute.
- Download and unzip the build from the install page.
- Open your extensions page —
chrome://extensionson Chrome,brave://extensionson Brave,edge://extensionson Edge. - Turn on Developer mode with the toggle in the top right.
- Click Load unpacked and point it at the unzipped folder.
- Pin it, then open justfor.fans in a tab where you are already signed in. A save chip appears on the media you can already see.
Chromium only: Chrome, Brave and Edge. There is no Firefox or Safari build, and that is a platform limitation rather than a roadmap item — the reasoning is in our Chrome, Brave and Edge guide.
What it actually saves on JustForFans
- Encrypted pay-per-view video, decrypted locally, at the post’s top rendition. On a single video you can deliberately pick a smaller rung if you want a lighter file.
- Photos at full size, not the shrunken version the page happens to render.
- A whole profile in one run. Point it at a creator and it walks their feed without you scrolling to load more.
- Everything you have ever bought, across every creator. This is the one that surprises people: a single sweep of your entire purchase history on JFF, not one profile at a time.
- Type filters on a run, so you can take videos only, or photos only, instead of crawling everything.
- DM photos and unencrypted DM clips, one click each, right inside the chat.
Files land in your ordinary Downloads folder, named by a template you control. Worth knowing: a whole-profile run does not carry the original post date or caption into JustForFans files — the feed does not expose them — so those land on OnlyFans backups but not here.
The full capability table for JustForFans and the other four sites lives on supported sites, and the feature page is the JustForFans downloader.
What it doesn’t do
We would rather you read this now than discover it after paying.
- Encrypted DM video cannot be saved yet. DM photos and unencrypted clips work. If a creator sends an encrypted video in chat, Fanripper cannot currently write it to disk. This is the biggest open gap on JustForFans and it is being worked on.
- No stories. OnlyFans stories and highlights are supported; JustForFans stories are not.
- Date and paid-only filters work on your library, not on a profile feed. Media-type filtering works on both. A profile feed does not carry the dates to filter on, so those two axes are ignored there.
- It does not update itself. The extension tells you when a new build is out and you re-load it — about fifteen seconds, and your settings and login survive. It is not silent auto-update, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
- It never bypasses a paywall. Fanripper saves what your logged-in, paid account can already open. Content you have not bought stays locked, exactly as it should.
- No tool can promise it will work forever on a platform it does not control. What we can say is that JustForFans is actively maintained here alongside the other four sites, and the fastest route when something breaks is Telegram at @fanripper.
Does a JustForFans downloader work inside direct messages? Partly. DM photos and unencrypted clips save with one click. Encrypted DM video cannot be saved yet — that is a real gap, not a setting you can flip.
Is it safe?
It runs through your logged-in account, so the bar should be high. The verifiable parts:
- Everything happens on your device. Decryption and file writing occur in your browser. Your JFF media and your session never reach a Fanripper server.
- It never asks for your password. It works through the session already open in the tab. Anything that wants you to type your JustForFans email and password into it is a credential grab, not a downloader.
- It paces like browsing, rather than firing bursts of parallel requests at the site.
Nobody can honestly promise you will never be flagged, and you should distrust any tool that claims to. The truthful framing is lower risk: local processing, no password handover, human-paced activity.

Paid plans bill in crypto — USDT, BTC, ETH, USDC — with no card and no KYC, bought inside the extension, and each purchase carries a 7-day refund window at billing@fanripper.com. Cloud backup and Telegram delivery are a separate optional add-on at $4/month, not part of any plan.
The short version
A JustForFans video downloader only works properly if it can make the signed request as you and decrypt the encrypted clip locally. A Chrome extension gets both for free by living in the tab you are already logged into — which is why Fanripper keeps the post’s top rendition where a Widevine-assuming tool hands you 720p.
Install from the install page, unlock Max or Lifetime when you want JustForFans, and read the JustForFans feature page or the full site comparison for the details. Keep it to what you have paid for, and your archive stays yours.
