You installed Fanripper, opened OnlyFans or Fansly, and there’s no save button on the post. Before you assume it’s broken, take a breath — nearly every “not working” report comes down to one of a handful of simple things, and each takes seconds to check. Work through this list top to bottom and the button almost always comes back.
A quick note first: Fanripper only ever adds a save control to content you already have access to as a paid subscriber or buyer. It’s a personal backup tool, not a way to unlock posts you haven’t paid for — so if a post is still locked behind a paywall, that’s the platform, not a bug.
7 fixes for a missing download button
1. Confirm you’re actually logged into OnlyFans or Fansly. Fanripper works through your existing signed-in session — it never asks for your password, and it can’t add its controls to a page where you’re logged out. Make sure you’re properly logged in on the site itself, not viewing a public or preview page.
2. Refresh the page — and try a hard refresh. The save button is injected when the page loads. If Fanripper was installed, updated, or re-enabled while the tab was already open, that tab won’t have it yet. A normal refresh fixes most cases; a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) clears a stale cached page.
3. Check you’re in a supported browser. Fanripper is a Manifest V3 Chromium extension. It runs on Chrome, Brave, and Edge on desktop, and on an extension-capable Android browser like Elixir or Edge Canary. It does not run on Firefox or Safari — those use a different extension engine entirely, so the button will never appear there. Full details are in our guide to which browsers Fanripper supports.
4. Make sure the extension is actually enabled. Open your extensions page (chrome://extensions, brave://extensions, or edge://extensions), find Fanripper, and confirm its toggle is on. While you’re there: if you browse OnlyFans or Fansly in a private/Incognito window, open Fanripper’s details and allow it to run in Incognito — extensions are off there by default.
5. Disable other downloader or blocking extensions. Another OnlyFans/Fansly downloader, an aggressive ad blocker, or a script blocker can collide with Fanripper and stop its button from rendering. Turn off other extensions one at a time, reload the page after each, and see which one was the culprit.
6. Make sure you’re on savable content. The save control shows up on a photo or video you can already see — in a post or a direct message. It won’t appear on a locked pay-per-view post you haven’t purchased, because there’s nothing there to back up yet. If you’re on a plain text update with no media, there’s likewise nothing to save.
7. Reload or force-update the extension. Fanripper auto-updates from its signed build, but you can nudge it: on the extensions page, toggle Fanripper off and on, or hit Reload. If it still misbehaves, fully quit and reopen the browser. That clears the vast majority of one-off hiccups.
”The button’s there, but protected video won’t save”
That’s a different situation, and usually not a fault at all. Standard photos and video are free and unlimited. DRM-protected pay-per-view video is encrypted and needs a paid plan to decrypt — Basic ($5/month) and up. So if photos and standard clips save but a locked PPV video won’t, it’s a plan question, not a broken button.
