“Free downloader” usually means a trial, a watermark, or a 30-second clip with a buy button underneath. So it is worth stating this one carefully, because it is unusual and it is true: Fansly downloads in Fanripper are free on any account. Video, photos, and the media in your direct messages, at full quality, with no plan attached.
That is not a promotion and it is not a countdown. Two Fansly things sit behind a paywall — the whole-timeline bulk backup, and “download all” on a post with several attachments, both of which need Pro. Everything else saves free. This guide draws the line precisely, along with the things that genuinely do not work.
Ground rule first: this is a personal backup of content you have lawful, paid access to. Fanripper is independent, not affiliated with Fansly, and it never opens anything your account cannot already open.
What “free” covers, exactly
On Fansly, on any account including the free tier:
- Video from posts, at the quality you choose. Fansly publishes a ladder of renditions and the picker exposes every rung, so you can take the best one or deliberately take a smaller one.
- Photos at full size, not the shrunken preview the page happens to render.
- DM attachments. The save chip appears inside Fansly chats, so a photo or video sent in a message is one click — a surface most tools never reach at all.
- Files named and tagged properly, with creator, caption and original post date carried into the filename and metadata.
Is there a genuinely free Fansly video downloader? Yes. In Fanripper, Fansly video, photos and DM attachments download on any account, including the free one — that is the shipping behaviour, not a trial. The only Fansly feature behind a plan is the whole-timeline bulk backup, which needs Pro at $8 a month.
Why Fansly is free and OnlyFans isn’t
This is not generosity, it is engineering economics, and the honest explanation is more useful than a slogan.
Why is Fansly free when OnlyFans isn’t? Because Fansly video is not DRM-encrypted. It is streamed as a manifest of segments, so the work is fetching and reassembling them. OnlyFans video is Widevine-protected, and the local decryption pipeline behind it is what the paid plans fund.
Put another way: on Fansly the hard part is that there is no single file to grab — a downloader has to read the manifest, pull every segment with your session’s signed URLs, and mux them back into one MP4. That is real work to build, but once built it costs nothing to run. On OnlyFans there is an additional sealed decryption step, and maintaining that against a platform that changes is what the $5 and $8 tiers pay for. Charging Fansly users for a decryption step Fansly does not need would be charging for nothing.
If you want the deeper technical version, our OnlyFans DRM and Widevine explainer covers what Widevine actually does and why it is the expensive part.
How to get it
- Download the build from the install page and unzip it. Fanripper is not in the Chrome Web Store — stores routinely pull extensions that work with subscription sites — so it is distributed directly.
- Open
chrome://extensions(orbrave://extensions, oredge://extensions), turn on Developer mode, and click Load unpacked on the unzipped folder. - Pin it, then open Fansly in a tab where you are already signed in.
- Click the chip on any post or message. Files land in your normal Downloads folder.
Chromium only: Chrome, Brave and Edge. There is no Firefox or Safari build — the reasoning is in our Chrome, Brave and Edge guide. You do need a free Fanripper account — the extension asks you to sign in before the first download — but there is no plan to buy and no card. For Fansly itself you are working through the session already open in your browser, and Fanripper never asks for your Fansly password.
On your phone? Fansly downloads are free in the Fanripper app as well — here is how to save Fansly videos on iPhone and Android, no computer needed.
The one part that costs money
The whole-timeline backup. Point Fanripper at a Fansly creator and it walks their entire timeline top to bottom, so you are not scrolling to “load more” for an hour. That run is on Pro, $8/month (or Unlimited, $40 for six months).
Everything else on Fansly stays free. If you only ever save the posts and messages you are looking at, you never need to pay us anything — and we would rather say that than sell you a plan you do not need. The bulk profile download guide explains how a crawl paces itself.
What doesn’t work on Fansly
The honest list, because a tick in a table that turns out to be false is worth less than a sale.
- A small number of videos fail. Fansly usually serves DASH, which Fanripper handles. A rare few posts are HLS-only, and those do not download today.
- No stories. OnlyFans stories and highlights are supported; Fansly stories are not.
- No filters on a bulk run. On OnlyFans you can restrict a crawl by date, type or paid-only. On Fansly you get the timeline, unfiltered.
- An interrupted bulk run does not resume. If you stop it or the browser dies mid-run, it starts again rather than picking up where it left off.
- No “everything I bought” sweep. A bulk run covers one creator’s timeline. Purchases and DMs are saved one at a time.
- It does not update itself. The extension tells you when a new build is out and you re-load it — about fifteen seconds, settings and login intact.
- It never bypasses a paywall. Only content your account can already open.
What doesn’t work on Fansly? A small number of videos are served only as HLS rather than the usual DASH, and those fail to download today. There is also no story support, no filters on a bulk run, and an interrupted bulk run starts over rather than resuming.
Is a free downloader safe to use?
“Free” is exactly when you should ask where the money comes from. Here it comes from the OnlyFans, JustForFans, privacy.com.br and Fanfix tiers, not from your data. The verifiable parts:
- Everything runs on your device. Fetching, muxing and saving happen in your browser. Your Fansly media and your session never reach a Fanripper server.
- It never asks for your password. It works through the session already open in the tab. Anything that wants your Fansly email and password typed into it is a credential grab, not a downloader.
- It paces like browsing, rather than firing bursts of parallel requests at the site.
No tool can honestly promise you will never be flagged, and you should distrust any that claims to. The truthful framing is lower risk, not zero. Our local versus cloud comparison covers why that distinction matters.
The whole price list, for context
- Free — $0. Fansly video, photos and DM media, on any account.
- Basic — $5/month. OnlyFans protected video.
- Pro — $8/month. Whole-profile backups on Fansly and OnlyFans, plus OnlyFans PPV, DMs and Vault. Prepaid as Unlimited, $40 for six months.
- Max — $15/month. Everything above, plus JustForFans, privacy.com.br and Fanfix. Two computers and two phones.
- Lifetime — $99 once. Every-site access with no subscription.
Paid plans take crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH, USDC), card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Telegram Stars, or a gift card — no KYC — bought inside the extension or at app.fanripper.com, with a 7-day refund window at billing@fanripper.com. Cloud backup and Telegram delivery are a separate optional $4/month add-on, not bundled into any plan.
The bottom line
If Fansly is where your subscriptions are, the answer to “free Fansly video downloader” is genuinely yes: install once, click a chip, keep the file. The only thing you can pay for is not scrolling.
Install from the install page, read the Fansly feature page for the details, or see how all five sites compare on supported sites. Keep it to content you have lawfully paid to access — your own backup, not redistribution.
